İstanbul Bilgi University has nine computer laboratories at the Kuştepe campus and twelve at the Dolapdere campus. Two of the laboratories at the Kuştepe campus are dedicated to the Visual Communication Department and are equipped with the latest multimedia technology. They have 25 PCs each.
Two of the other laboratories have been allocated for the Computer Science Department with 27 PCs each. The Mathematics Department laboratory has 30 PCs, while the Business Administration Department laboratory has 32 PCs. The Music Department has a laboratory with 8 PCs. The remaining two labs are for free usage and they have 25 PCs each.
Free labs located at the Kuştepe campus provide convenient and easily accessible spaces where students can do their assignments, undertake research or just surf the net. They are open 08:30 - 23:00.
The three laboratories for English Preparatory Year students in Dolapdere have a total of 65 PCs. Since they serve as tools for BİLGİ language education classes, 52 of the PCs are supplemented with WinSchool hardware and software. One laboratory which has a capacity of 13 PCs has been allocated as a Learning Centre.
The Dolapdere campus, where First Year students of all departments, all Law Faculty students and all students of Mathematics and Computer Science departments receive their education, has nine computer laboratories with 25 PCs each. In addition, the Dolapdere free laboratory has 35 PCs available for student use.
The two BİLGİ libraries located at the Kuştepe and Dolapdere campuses have a total of 75 PCs, all of which are allocated for academic research, homework and related activities.
There are two Internet cafes at the Kuştepe and Dolapdere campuses equipped with a total of 40 PCs. Students are free to use the Internet cafes for doing their assignments, for research, for surfing the net or for playing games.

The Internet
All 636 student computers mentioned above are, along with the academic and administrative computers, connected to the Internet. The Kuştepe campus is connected to the Ulaknet backbone like all other universities in Turkey. Moreover, İstanbul Bilgi University has leased three 2Mbit connections to the TTNet backbone and in order to improve the communication capacity of the university, 2Mbit satellite connection and four 2 Mbit TIX connections are also provided. The Dolapdere campus is connected to the Kuştepe gateway by four 2Mbit leased lines. İstanbul Bilgi University also provides dial-up Internet communication services with 72 lines for its students who wish to connect to the Internet from outside the university.
Every İstanbul Bilgi University student has an e-mail address. New students may acquire their own e-mail accounts by presenting their completed registration forms to the System Administrator. At present, a total of 9381 students are actively using e-mail accounts via the BİLGİ Mail Server.
